Breakfast was leftovers from the past few days. Lou and I planned on a hike to Feather Falls, the sixth tallest water fall in the US. Dawn planned on a relaxing day in camp. Lou and I started our trip with a visit to a local hardware store we couldn’t pass by. Never can! Good […]
Today I got up early, actually 7:30 was never early during the working life but is now days. I do stay up late most nights so my so my days and nights are just offset a tad.
Anyway, I was up early to wakeup the RV so it could get a smog check. Darn, I hate […]
Lou and Dawn are away, so I get to play.
I had a nice breakfast at Whole Foods and then headed for the hills.
I went to Pescadero Creek Park on the other side of the mountains West of Palo Alto.
There is a trailhead off Alpine Road for the Tarwater Loop Trail. This is probably my […]
Silver and Golden Falls State Park is located about 24 miles East of Coos Bay. The first 19.5 miles are on a nice paved road. The last 3.5 miles are on gravel road which narrows to barely one lane in width near the end. There is a large parking area at the park so a […]
Lou’s feeling a lot better.
No wind in the morning so Don tried flying the RC plane again. There were a couple of good flights and a lot of the usual crashes. We went down to Orick for breakfast at the Palms Cafe. They make a good breakfast, good pancakes and crisp hash-browns with eggs cooked […]
Pancakes and Italian sausage for breakfast. Tastes even better outside in fresh air watching the wildlife.
We’re registered for another night in the same spot. We forgot to top off our drinking water so a trip to the grocery store is needed, first thing.
We’re 4-5 mile from the coast but the weather here on the prairie […]
On the Fourth we took a walk at Pechetti Ranch, part of the Midpenensula Regional Open Space District above Cupertino.
There are a lot of peacocks at the ranch and a nice pond with baby froggies hopping all over. There is also a nice winery on the grounds.
Breakfast in the yard. All the refrigerator left overs made a nice omelette.
We went to a swap meet at Palo Alto High School. Nothing Lou or I couldn’t live without. Dawn, of course, found some interesting books.
The Palo Alto High School Flea Market. Art at Stanford, a large roll of garbage. OK!
Afterwards, we […]
Lou and I walked through Bolado Park to Gunn High School, where Lou used to work, and back home. Lou used to use this route to walk to work most of the time. It’s about 2 miles there and the same back. It is a nice walk.
We stopped by to visit the donkeys. […]
Palo Duro State Park is Southeast of Amarillo, Texas (12 miles East of Canyon, Texas). In this high plain area it is a surprising change. A mini grand canyon of sorts. We just visited for the day but there are lots of campsites some of which have hookups.
We hiked the Lighthouse Trail, a […]
